Route:
Port Blair (1 night) → Mayabunder (1 night) → Diglipur (1 night) → Long Island (1 night) → Havelock Island (2 nights) → Port Blair (3 nights)
Day 1: Port Blair – Gateway to the Andamans
Your journey begins in Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. After arriving via a connecting flight from mainland India, check into the Megapode Resort, which offers dome-shaped rooms on a hilltop with serene sea views.
Spend your evening relaxing at Corbyn’s Cove Beach, trying out water sports like jet-skiing or simply enjoying a coconut drink on the shore. For a vegetarian-friendly meal, Annapurna Restaurant on MG Road is a great local pick.
Day 2: Through Tribal Territory – Port Blair to Mayabunder via Baratang
Leave early at 4 AM to reach Baratang Island, passing through the protected Jarawa tribal reserve on the Andaman Trunk Road. This drive, done in a convoy, is both thrilling and respectful—the contact with the Jarawa is restricted by law.
At Baratang, take a short boat ride through mangroves to witness limestone caves and a mud volcano. Nature lovers can also detour to Parrot Island at sunset.
Wrap up the day in Mayabunder, chilling at the eco-friendly Karmatang Beach, known for its turtle nesting farm.
Day 3: Ross & Smith Islands – A Twin-Isle Wonder
After breakfast, head to Ross and Smith Islands, connected by a natural sandbar. The marine sanctuary here is ideal for snorkeling, and the views are simply surreal.
You’ll meet fellow adventurers from across the globe—like our Swiss friends who shared tales of trekking to Saddle Peak and Alfred Caves in Diglipur.
Spend the night at Pristine Beach Resort in Kalipur. Don’t miss the magical sight of baby turtles hatching at night—a true once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Day 4: Off the Grid – Long Island via Rangat
Travel to Rangat and take a ferry to Long Island, an isolated paradise under Andaman’s eco-tourism program. There are no vehicles here, so expect to walk or rent a bicycle.
Stay at Blue Planet Eco Resort, meet like-minded travelers, and enjoy a peaceful beach just minutes away. Note: this leg is best for adventurers and may not be ideal for elderly travelers or those with young kids.
Day 5: Trekking to Lalaji Bay, Then Off to Havelock
Start your day with a jungle trek or bike ride to Lalaji Bay Beach—remote, raw, and untouched. After lunch, hop on a ferry to Havelock Island, where the colors of the sea change with the light.
Check into Silver Sand Beach Resort for a romantic dinner set right on the shore. Want something more upscale? Barefoot at Havelock offers luxury eco-stays and jungle vibes.
Day 6: Beach Hopping on Scooters
Rent a scooty and explore Havelock’s iconic beaches:
-
Beach No. 2: Scuba diving hub
-
Kalapathar Beach: Ideal for snorkeling
-
Govindnagar Market: Great for lunch and local shopping
-
Radhanagar Beach (No. 7): Voted Asia’s Best Beach by TIME Magazine
Spot monitor lizards, meet friendly locals, and learn about fascinating history—like the story of Tewari, the escaped British convict-turned-Andamanese who betrayed his tribe during the Battle of Aberdeen.
Day 7: Unexpected Rain & Return to Port Blair
Woke up to unexpected rains? It happens. We cut our Havelock trip short and returned to Port Blair. But every cloud has a silver lining—thanks to spontaneous plans, we enjoyed a cultural evening at the Cellular Jail’s Light and Sound Show, followed by dinner at Lighthouse Restaurant.
Day 8: Cellular Jail, Marina Park & a Slice of History
Visit the Cellular Jail, where India’s brave freedom fighters were once imprisoned. Hire a guide—it’s worth it. Learn about Kanhoji Angre, the Maratha admiral who challenged European colonial fleets.
End the day at Marina Park—perfect for evening strolls, water sports, and visiting the Battle of Aberdeen Memorial.
Day 9: Day Trip to Wandoor & Jolly Buoy Island
Take a boat to Jolly Buoy Island—a gem within Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. Enjoy glass-bottom boat rides, snorkeling, and bird watching at Chidiya Tapu.
